Poems by Ruth Rice

Wondrous revelation,
Oblivious to worldly cares.
Reflecting on inner mysteries,
Shattered dreams becoming whole.
Heavenly beauty come to earth,
Interpreting music for inspiration.
Praising the king in the dance.

I bring you tattered remnants of my life.
You give life to my soul.
I move slowly, reverently,
Dance is too worldy a word.
I worship my creator in the throne room.
"Daughter, you have come where you belong.
See me as I really am."

Warriors

Dressed for the King we step forth,
Garbed in flowing white dresses
Or gold and purple vests,
All awash in the colors of heaven
As veils and flags swirl.
Set apart from the world,
We seek to bring others into your presence
as we praise your name.
But worshipping God is not a game,
Our attitude must be pure
Because you are holy.
What we wear, what we hold,
Even our bodies
Are instruments of praise.
